In honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, FBLA is once again helping spread some cheer to children undergoing chemotherapy treatments by building “chemo care packages.” Now through September 30, everyone is asked to donate the following type items: neck rests, lip balm, lemon drops, gum, scented candles, socks, blankets, hand sanitizer, personalized encouragement letters, small toys, diary, crosswords, earbuds, etc. All items will be donated to Mattie’s Mission. You can drop off your donations at Mrs. Whitaker’s Room (348).
Meanwhile, Work-Based Learning is sponsoring “Self-Care September.” During the month of September, everyone is asked to contribute shampoo, body wash, and deodorant to benefit the PCHS clothing closet. Turn these items into your first period or first block class. The class that collects the most items will receive a Jerry J’s breakfast.
Come check out our new box braid bracelets in school colors at the school store - “Grizzly Gear” - which is also now open each day during all three lunches. See Grizzly Gear for the newest Bear Wear and more. Beta Club and FBLA students, see Mrs. Whitaker if you wish to earn community service hours by working in the school store.
Time is winding down to vote for your favorite PCHS teacher, coach, athlete and student in the
America’s Most Spirited High School contests. There are cash awards available to the national winners and PCHS had two students among this past year’s national finalists. Look for the QR codes posted around the school and vote by September 22.
Please take note: Prices on all soft drink machines at PCHS have gone up 25 cents. Also, please do not ask the office for any drink machine refunds. These machines are owned by Coca Cola and only they have access to the machines.
